ABOUT THE FIRM — DOC 02
FERRUM CONSTRUCTION GROUP IS A FAMILY-HELD GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND DESIGN-BUILDER. WE HAVE POURED, FRAMED, AND HANDED OVER 483 PROJECTS SINCE 1971 — AND EVERY ONE OF THEM IS STILL STANDING.
FOUNDED ON A CONCRETE TRUCK AND A HANDSHAKE.
Ferrum began in 1971 as a two-man concrete crew working foundation contracts along Foundry Row. The founder's rule was written on the door of the first truck: pour it right or break it out yourself. That rule has survived three generations, four recessions, and 9.2 million square feet of construction.
Today we are a full-service general contractor with 140 employees, self-performing crews in concrete, carpentry, masonry, and roofing, and a portfolio spanning custom residences, multi-family housing, healthcare, education, industrial, and civil work.
Our mission has not changed since the truck: build structures that outlast the people who ordered them, at the price we quoted, on the date we promised. We grow by referral, not by advertising — roughly 80% of our volume is repeat clients or their recommendations.
Third-party inspection welcomed on every structural pour. Workmanship warrantied for two years; structure for ten. We build to be tested.
Open-book estimating on request. Every allowance itemized, every change order signed before the work happens. No surprises at handover.
We refuse work we cannot stand behind for a decade. If value engineering weakens the structure, we say so in writing — and decline.
Ferrum Concrete founded with one mixer truck and two men. First contract: residential foundations, Lawrenceville.
